Our Wedding

What started as a simple trip to Columbus turned into something neither of us saw coming. Rachael had traveled to visit her friend Annie, who insisted on a night out—one that led to meeting her co-worker Evan at Bristol Bar. From the very beginning, there was an undeniable spark (and yes, Rachael was immediately impressed by Evan’s dance moves). What followed was effortless—constant conversations, daily check-ins, and a growing curiosity about what this could become. Just six weeks later, Evan made the trip to New York City. That weekend changed everything. After two back-to-back visits, it became clear this wasn’t just something casual—Evan knew he wanted Rachael to be his girlfriend, and neither of them looked back. What followed was a chapter of long distance between NYC and Columbus, filled with late-night FaceTimes, weekend flights, and making the most of every moment together. Somewhere between the miles and the moments, they fell deeply in love. Then, in April 2025, Evan made the biggest decision yet. After spending his entire life in Ohio, he took a leap of faith and moved to New York City to continue his career in commercial real estate—and, more importantly, to build a life with Rachael. What once were weekend visits and FaceTime calls quickly turned into everyday life together—morning coffee runs, late-night walks, and exploring the city hand in hand. New York soon became more than just a place—it became home. In January 2026, during their annual ski trip to Colorado, Evan had something much bigger planned. The day started off slightly out of character—Evan only ate a bowl of soup at lunch, insisted on stopping into a Sunglass Hut where he tried on what felt like every pair of sunglasses, and then very casually suggested they take the “scenic route” home. Not thinking much of it, Rachael went along with the plan—until they arrived at the most beautiful, quiet spot. It was there, surrounded by the mountains, that Evan got down on one knee and asked Rachael to spend forever with him. And of course, she said yes! And now, here we are—surrounded by the people we love most, ready to celebrate la dolce vita together.

Our Story

Travel Note: Don't forget your passport! Please make sure to check your passport and ensure it is valid through your travel dates. Italy's guidelines are 6 month validity from your planned day of departure.

Upon arrival, please visit the front desk to receive your room assignment. All rooms are designed in traditional Tuscan style with modern comforts including air conditioning, WiFi, and private bathrooms. Breakfast will be included daily until 10 AM. Guests will also enjoy access to the property’s gardens, panoramic pool, and scenic common areas overlooking the countryside. We have reserved the entirety of Villa Barberino for our wedding weekend and look forward to celebrating with our closest family and friends on-site. The property accommodates up to 76 guests, with room rates ranging from approximately $200–$350 per night. Upon receiving your formal invitation, we kindly ask that you RSVP promptly, as room assignments will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Should the villa reach capacity, we will be happy to assist guests in securing accommodations at nearby properties and will provide recommendations closer to the wedding date.

Travel to ItalyWe are so grateful that you are considering joining us in Tuscany for our wedding. As June is a popular travel season in Italy, we encourage guests to begin thinking about travel plans early and to book flights as soon as they are comfortable doing so. For those traveling from the United States, we recommend arriving a few days before the wedding festivities begin to adjust to the time change and enjoy everything Tuscany has to offer. AirportsThe most convenient airports are:- Florence Airport (approximately 45 minutes from Villa Barberino)- Pisa International Airport (approximately 1 hour from Villa Barberino)- Rome Fiumicino Airport (approximately 3 hours from Villa Barberino) Train TravelItaly's rail system is excellent and often the easiest way to travel between major cities. Guests wishing to spend time in Florence, Rome, Milan, or elsewhere before the wedding may find train travel to be a convenient option. The nearest train station to Villa Barberino is in Florence, where taxis and private transfers are readily available. TransportationWhile a rental car is not required, we highly recommend one for guests who plan to explore Tuscany before or after the wedding. The region is filled with charming hill towns, wineries, and countryside villages that are best accessed by car. Parking is available at no charge at Villa Barberino. Additional transportation details, including transfer services to and from the airport will be provided closer to the wedding date.
