What started as a simple trip to Columbus turned into something neither of us saw coming.

Rachael had traveled to visit her friend Annie, who insisted on a night out—one that led to meeting her co-worker Evan at Bristol Bar. Then, in April 2025, Evan made the biggest decision yet. After spending his entire life in Ohio, he took a leap of faith and moved to New York City to continue his career in commercial real estate—and, more importantly, to build a life with Rachael. What once were weekend visits and FaceTime calls quickly turned into everyday life together—morning coffee runs, late-night walks, and exploring the city hand in hand. New York soon became more than just a place—it became home.

In January 2026, during their annual ski trip to Colorado, Evan had something much bigger planned. The day started off slightly out of character—Evan only ate a bowl of soup at lunch, insisted on stopping into a Sunglass Hut where he tried on what felt like every pair of sunglasses, and then very casually suggested they take the “scenic route” home. Not thinking much of it, Rachael went along with the plan—until they arrived at the most beautiful, quiet spot. It was there, surrounded by the mountains, that Evan got down on one knee and asked Rachael to spend forever with him. And of course, she said yes!

And now, here we are—surrounded by the people we love most, ready to celebrate la dolce vita together.
